[LASS Soaring] Lass Meeting Summary

This past Sunday we had our first meeting of this year. I must start off 
by apologizing for some direction snafu. I sent people to Kennedy Place 
when in fact it was Saint James Place and the meeting room was on 
Kennedy Place street. Sorry for the confusion. The directions are 
correct on the web just replace the complex name with Saint James and 
the street is Kennedy Place.

Ron reported on our year end finances. We have almost $800 in the bank. 
Biggest purchase this past year has been a new winch. This gives us a 
total of 4 club owned winches and reduces our need to borrow winches to 
host man on man contest.
The present slate of officers were reaffirmed for another year of service.
We reviewed the contest schedule for next year. Due to many request from 
our November Nite Fly we will host a Nite Fly on July 12. Details later. 
Ben and Bruce are discussing a Hand Launch 2-3 day contest to be hosted 
by LASS. They are due to report back at the next meeting with dates 
after contacting other H/L flyers in regional clubs.  We also will host 
the Mid-South in 2009. The total contest schedule will be updated on the 
web very soon.

Next meeting is February 10 at 1:00pm. Jay Burkart will have some 
electric SAM type of planes for sale. Others are invited to bring planes 
and other items they want to sell to this meeting also.
