[LASS Soaring] "Ed Wilson, Candidate for LSF VP...and Why He Should Be!"

Ed is an active builder flyer...the kind of guy who has  been there done that 
in the hobby.  A skilled hobbiest with experience in  wood thru composite 
construction..a talented and awarded thumb. A guy who has  traveled for contests. 
 He knows the hobby and what it needs to grow the  hobby and LSF.
 
He personally mentored two of the top sailplaners in the  country (well three 
if you count me:-)...Bruce (the arm) Davidson, and our own  Little Lee (11 
year old winner at Tullahoma).
 
LSF 5, past VP (glutton for punishment or feels he still  has some things to 
accomplish in LSF?).

When everything is said and done,  when it comes to RC Soaring, with Ed, more 
is always done than  said.
 
Here's a bit of the resume that makes us LASS guys respect  him so much:
 
 Started with stick models at age 9. Later moved into 1/2A  and .35 
controline.  While still in high school did volunteer work at Boy’s Club  with C/L 
club. After graduation I worked at same Boy’s Club while attending  collage. I 
took 11 boy’s ( ages 9-11) to 71 Nat’s at Glenview Ill (my first Nat’s).  72 
flew first glider  74 flying a Soarcraft Centurion caught first thermal off  
furnaces at U of L on Shelbyville  Rd.  76 to today travel to regional contest in 
Lexington, Cincinnati,  St Louis, Tullahoma. Nat’s in Vincines, Nat's in 
Lubbock,  Norfork, Dayton, and Muncie (Nats, Masters, OVSS and  Woody).  Versed in 
Stylus,  9303 Synth & 2.4  4 year term as LSF Vice President  LASS Club 
president (for life)  Achieved LSF Level V November 1999 - #101  Event director at 
Midsouth Soaring Championships and CD for  Mid-America
