[LASS Soaring] Results of Midwest SAM contest

Sorry, No pictures. We were too busy with 3 different events both days and
there were between 2 and 3 rounds for each

event. I absolutely was exhausted especially when we were flying in about
a 93 degree temp.

Maybe some when we get out at the Eldorado Dry lake out in Vegas. Talk
about a flying venue.

5 miles by 7 miles of flat clear dry lake bed nestled in between mountains.
What a great site.

HI all,

Well, we did you all good and upheld the honor of LASS.

Kent Meglemry has learned his thermaling skills well and is now a bonafide
winner.

He won two of the events at the contest up at Muncie, LMR (Limited Motor
Run) on day one and

he also took home the gold on day two winning the Shilen unlimited event
which is a variation of

a LMR type event using a pre 1941 rubber design powered by a Speed 300.

Your truly did well too, winning 3 of the other events, Texaxco, Shilen
Wakefield, and Spirit of SAM.

Next week we have two more contests down in Knoxville to tune up for our
real challenge at this years

SAM Champs in LasVegas in October.

Thanks for letting me share this all with you, thought you might like to
hear about some other

area of thermal flying using the Old Timers and electric.
