[LASS Soaring] Another LASS member

HI guys,

 

Here is some detail of how Kent Meglemry did at the SAM Championship in Las
Vegas two weeks ago.

 

2nd place Wakefield  

 

2nd place unlimited

 

5th place SOS (Spirit of SAM) electric

 

This is out a 5 events scored for the overall Championship R/C Electric
division.

All the events are based on flying recreations of Pre-1941 Gas or Rubber
powered free flight models flown by different electric

setups as required by the rules.  These are tasked quite like  thermal
duration events similar to the sailplane events

with durations from as little as 5 minutes maxes to longest flight of the
day depending on the event.

So if any of you are ever interested in flying this type of competition give
Kent or me a call and we can

explain more fully.  It is a ball and a much lower key type of competition,
a bunch of old guys scheming on how to beat each

other with models they flew as kids.

Another LASS member doing well in competition.

 

By the way Kent Meglemry and I just got back from the SAM Champs in LasVegas

and I won:  R/C Electric Grand Champion for 2007. That's the second time for
me, last time in 2004.

I won 3 of the events and placed in the trophies for 3 other events.

Kent placed high in two of the events, not bad for only his 3rd Champs
outing.
