Well I though it was time I would try this message board thing Just a
note on Mark Terry progress, Mark's plane was badly damage wile
practicing wench launching. So this week being fall break he will be
building a sprit elite His interests was spark some by the completion in
Tullahoma. Mark is a good kid as a father you wonder some time does he
really like fling or just hanging with his dad. But I think it a little
of both now. I was in Bristol this weekend at my fathers, We took the
planes out to the field. I was hoping to help my dad get the wench
thing down. The wind was blowing at about 20 -25 mph He decide not to
fly. I went up a couple times to find nothing but wind. So looking to
find something. About a 1/4 of a mile down wind was a hill, it rose up
about 500 feet being hit by the wind. So I got a good winch launch and
turn back with great speed and went down wind. I was at the hill in a
matter of seconds The plane was all over the place and at that distance
it was hard to tell if I was over the edge So finally I got in a good
line with the hill Knowing I was about to hit the rising air, It hit
alright it stood the glider straight up and then over And it fell off
40' I was now low, I regroup and headed for home. I landed about 300
yards shy of the field, No damage. We pack up and went home for another
day. My goal this winter is to have my boy and my dad ready to fly
contest next year. Everyone have a nice week

I know Gordy and I are on the hunt for 8-hour slope flights and we're in
Louisville.
Join our fairly low-traffic email list here - we'll likely announce when
we're going to try:
http://louisvillesoaring.org/mailing-list/
Also, we'll likely attempt on the Frankfort Slope, as it's never been
8-houred before, and it's close by:
