Gordy put on a really tough effort today but the wind gods did not 
cooperate. With the winds on and off Gordy was left scrambling several 
times just to stay in the air. Other times the wind blew and thermals 
climbed the hill until the Maruader was just a speck in the sky. But 
alas the steady winds never materalized and a lengthy lull finally 
caught Gordy and into the top of a 60 foot tree he landed after 4 hours 
and 50 minutes.
The landing in the tree required an hour drive home and another hour 
drive back to Frankfort to get climbing gear to so the plane could be 
rescued. It is safe now and will be ready for an another attempt soon.
Not all was lost as Lee did a second level 3 thermal flight. This leaves 
only contest points for 11yr old Lee to complete his LSF level 3.
