I always try to post a write up (with pictures, if possible) of any contest I attend and my LSF tasks on rcgroups. Like you, I have noticed there are quite a few somewhat new-ish rc pilots that are participating in the glider section of rcgroups that seem to be early in the stage of getting the soaring bug. I always try to stress the comaradery, the free stuff I get at contests, and that it is not an intimidating experience (I think some new pilots worry about contests somehow being indimidating). I think your "real time" write up on rcgroups of the Nats was another great example of this. It helps install the "bug" in people.

The thing I like about posting pictures is it gives you a better idea of how many people are watching the thread and you can look at the views on the pictures to get an idea of what kind of pictures interest people. I'm often surprised by what pictures seem to capture people's attention.

I guess what I'm saying is it would be cool if more folks would do more contest mini reviews on rcgroups. There is at least one "in our area" rcgroups member that I have been trying to convince to go to Cinci/Louisville contests.
