Well guys, being president of one of the best clubs in the country didn't
count for nothing for Dan of SWASA fame,
In his failure he did manage to stumble over a LSF5 2 hour thermal
flight....I guess that's sumpthin.
Okay so he wasn't trying for 10 hours :-)
But....
WAY TO GO DAN!
I have had a few opportunities air wize at the 2 hour recently but sadly
lacking witnesses.
Club President and great thermal guy in general Rick Eckels is sadly only at
LSF1 but I think he's considering taking up the LSF leadership role in
Florida, by setting a goal to push/pull/drag others to follow him up the tasks,
vowing to never leave a pal behind, er I mean with out a qualified LSF5 witness.
I could see it in his eyes, even if not in his voice that he feels that
Florida is a soaring force on the grow and should be an example for other state
soaring organizations as showing respect and awe at those soaring pilots who
have worked the LSF program to the benefit of all in the hobby over the years.
But today is Dan's day! A big congratulations from a fan and a friend!
(and an 'atta boy for his good friend Gene Hays for letting the rest of us
know!)
Gordy
Orlando and envious :-)

Today Dan Borer, SWSA's President, completed his LSF Level V 2 hour
thermal flight.
Photos are available on the club web site in the "Photo Gallery 2"
section.
Send Dan an email and congratulate him and wish him luck and good
speed in completing the 10 kilometer Goal and Return task and in getting the 3
major contest wins to complete all of the Level V requirements.
