Okay guys get your sailplanes and polo mallets warmed up cuz the MidAm which
had been a one winch fun event in Lexington KY has been moved to the site we
had the Mid South at a year or so back.
This is the site that was Polo Fields and is three connected, which if you
don't know polo means its like 18 football fields long of nice flat grass
fields.
Parking is right next to the winches, we'll have plenty of them too. The
site is right on the Indiana Kentucky border so easy to get to, plenty of cheap
motels..and it will be THREE days for your RES enthusiasts!
Since it is part of the OVSS (Ohio Valley Girl Soaring Society) it is
sponsored by Horizon Hobbies and JR, which means the high point for the weekend in
Sportsguy and Elitists will end up with a pair of JR 368 servos for his next
project.
This was a big step for the Lexington club to offer to us, but their
facility and club is a little under the needs of a big contest, and this IS the year
of the Big Contest (In China its the Year of the Pig but they can't show
pigs cuz they aren't Kosher so its the year of the Big Contest for soaring).
So all of you guys who think you can earn your I beat Gordy Buttons at the
Mid-America Championships Louisville, better get your Snap Roll buttons tuned
up for speed mode, or whatever gimmick you think might work, lock in your
calendars, add some lead to the nose of your sailplanes,(you know to make them
more stable) Get some of the weight out of your models cuz it will take
really light sailplanes to whip up on the World's Heaviest Carbon Supra, and plan
on attending.
Stand by for more detals in the near future, and yes Bruce Davidson's Yard
Ass will likely be on the field again!
