I don't see a DLG as an advantage at all!  Quite the  contrary actually.  
Sure you might get to "pick" your air, but you still  have this opportunity with 
a winch/high start launch too.

No where did I mention or imply that a DLG was an advantage or  
disadvantage...again, its legal and moral and a decision.
 
When I wrote about doing the task with a DLG, and asked would  you have 
gotten the task done had you actually set out that day to set up a high  
start/winch, and plane for the task, versus taking the air opportunity at the  moment to 
declare a task attempt...well that means you might not have been in  that 
place at that time...maybe you would...but you wouldn't have been flying a  DLG.
 
FORGET the DLG part of it, those 100 or so guys who journeyed  thru the LSF 
program did it with winches, and high starts.  Doing it  different is FINE!!!!  
But not the same....alike, similar, but not  the same....okay, legal, moral ? 
YES
 
Just a decision to consider before you get to the end and think  to 
yourself,"I should have done it with a DLG/Picolario so I'd be in that group  on the 
left!" :-)
