I'm in Milwaukee for my dad's funeral this weekend. He'd been a stroke
victim for the past 7 years, one hand and grunts but still there. Had a chance to
visit with him and to have that talk most of us wish we could have before
our parents pass...and had a couple shots and beers too :-)
He was an RC sailplaner, a modeler airplane builder since he was a kid, and
the reason I got started.
I know he'd be pumped to know that my new Clite Supra arrived. My standard
World's Heaviest Carbon Supra, got some nicks and dings when the battery
cells shorted against each other on a launch, ending up in three branches, but to
small coke can skins patches and some polish has it looking like new again.
The new version of the Perfect should arrive next month in time for my
birthday, I ordered three, so starting to sweat cuz I had planned on shoveling
driveways to get up the cash to pay for them :-)
Believe it or not I was on the beach today, lake Michigan, Winnetka
Illinois, in a polo shirt, calm winds and warm!
Trying to work out the details to attend the SWC in Feb, but its more of a
dream right now than a possibility. I have a feeling this might be the best
year ever, weather wize. We'll see.
This weekend Milwaukee for my dad, and then home for a week, then down to
Florida for more time on the beaches....maybe a contest on the west coast ;-)
Then off to Mexico for a week or two.
I managed to scrounge a tip and fuse to get my original Perfect going (blems
from my friends in CZ, so if you see me with a harlequin Perfect you'll know
why :-) too valuable to not getting going.
Gordy
