50 degrees and COLD due to winds staying at about 15mph.
Now that doesn't sound like much until you get on the field with a plane!
Turbulence crazier than the back side rotor of a slope.
There were times when no one had any control of their ships, they were just
taken for a few seconds, flopping around, twisting and wobbling.
Landings with points were lucky 'mistakes'
Tony Utley of LASS fame, decided to fly his AVA with some ballast and did
CRAZY well with it, and likely would have move up to the top three had he not
had his ballast tube come loose on a launch, slding back toward his tail.
That put it in a tree for nearly no damage...phew! He put up some amazing
flights today and I think got more landing than I did!
JT let me use some of his Supra Ballast and my World's Heaviest Carbon Supra
really came alive.
I spent most of the day, well cept one flight skied out. I DO love that
crazy JW Thermal Mode thing :)
The more I use a preset thermal setting the more I know I'll never go back
to futzing with a slider again.
JW has launch on his Elevator DR switch, down being down launch camber and
up nothing. Then he has his three flight modes on his Left 3 Position switch.
Now mine is the same, and I got to tell you, its a shame to have all those
other switches, only to never use them again! Heck with the 9303, you almost
never have to go into the menu screen again! Makes things sooo simple.
Same top three today, but Jim got me on two landings and some time...so I
got runner up (It was mine to lose and I did (insert Edgar and Andy's sound
effect here)
Mike Williams came up hard from behind to bury everyone on that last flight,
well everyone but me and JT :)
I think everyone's plane experienced a little carnage today...it was
extremely tough near the ground.
Its over, we flew a contest today....and you didn't :-)
