Sorry guys,

I have nothing, zip to report on Soaring on this trip, other than should any
of you decide to ride the toughest leg of the Tour, bring sailplanes! The
slopes are everywhere and amazing.

The switch backs are 180's, and so vertical I had a hard time walking up one
in my motor cycle boots.

We got to the top of the toughest, highest leg of the tour and were soaked
from blowing cold rain. The pace doesn't slow because of rain, I have had to
raise my riding to near pro level to keep up with the three Germans. Slowest
pace was due to fog so deep that all you could see was the center line of
the road in front of your tire and the rider in fronts tail light.

My bike has a data recorder and our average for today in the mountains,
rain, fog the works..80kph!
Totally different kind of riding here than in the USA. Top speed on the
autobahn legs has been 230kph...not too hard with a 160hp big under me.

Pretty french girls in every town, and they all come to see us as we ride
through to our motels. A nice added perk :-)

France is not an easy place for someone who only speaks some German and
English!..at least not the parts we have been riding in.
800miles under us so far and only about 600 more before my son and I catch
our flights home Sunday.

If anyone wants a photo or two, post me off line.

I am definitely in Soaring withdrawals!

Gordy
