Thinking is good but great models make for bigger events.

I still think that "Buy and Fly" is a factor. Going to the NATS is going to
win.
John
No problem with thinking John, but keep some perspective. You fly once every
couple of months, I try to fly every day somewhere in the USA / World. With
lots and lots of guys of all experience ranges.
There aren't any 'cheap' models being produced because no one is buying
them. Instead of burning $500 total on a cheap low tech model set up, most guys
prefer to save up for a sailplane that is durable, flys well and looks great.
The 100" full house Spirit Elite full house ARF is about $130 done and works
with another $150 in servos...they fly fantastic and are contest
competitive, after all, you just need to find 10mins of air and put the nose on a spot
(piloting skills)...yet they can't give them away.
Going to the NATS for the week isn't about not having a super plane, its
about having :
the interest
6 nites of motel money
entry fee
transportation costs
and of course equipment
You aren't flying super ships, you aren't flying low tech...you just aren't
flying. Same for those who don't attend the nats.
See you tomorrow
