I'm not looking to buy any new models. And I really like the ones I have right now, although I'm keeping my eyeballs open for a specific piece of used modelling goodness that I have seen go on the market in the past.
I like to look at the scores for contests I can't go to and get an idea for how flyers accross the range of placings scored. Sometimes I even go out and practice the tasks held at these contests. I look at the results and see how things like if a person got all of thier flight time but missed all the landings, where would they place? It looks like in this past SWC that would have been about mid pack (a pilot on rcgroups confirmed this, stating he was only off a few seconds on time but missed all his landings). It can be tempting to think that if a person gets really good at the flight times and just OK at the landings that one could do well. Looking at the scores from big contests shows this is not the case, it is important to be really good at both. So then this encourages me to do more landing practice. Or I read the recaps from you and others on events like the Masters. And then when last Sunday we had 15-20 mph winds, I went out to my club field with my high start and my Psyko and flew in the wind trying to figure out how well I could make times in winds like that.
Since I don't have the luxury to attend as many contests as I would like, it seems like a great way to stay in the contest mindset. Well that and the X5J Extreme postal. I agree, it would be great if we could get what models were flown. But for me, even better when guys like you or Ben or whoever post contest recaps. That is why I do a contest recap of every contest I attend on rcgroups. Even when I come in last (like Midsouth last year).
On a personal note, I'm sad to say that I won't be able to attend the Cinci Memorial this year. I will be going on a business trip to beantown leaving that Saturday. Hopefully I'll be able to make some of the club contests LASS holds.

I'd be more happy with the data that they surely do have, flight task, flight seconds, landing score for each flight for each pilot (like they did for the SWC).
What possible reason would you care about those stats? You can buy them, earn them, copy them, use them to improve your flying or scores.
I guess you can read them, calculate something about the comparatives, but when it comes to paying your cash out on a new model, none of those things provide a bit of data, because you don't know which ships assisted their pilots to earn those scores.
Watch what you wish for, because unfortunately we are only getting it :-(
