What kind of manufacturer places a long-time customer on a "blacklist"
without even having spoken to that customer?
Funny stuff, and will be filed in the when everything is said and done more
will be said than done.
Dymond is an old German guy who retails stuff 'for us'. As unbelievable as
it might seem there are not a bunch of German Elves tap tap tapping away at
work benches in his basement.
Who puts a long time customer on a blacklist? A guy who doesn't want to do
business with him anymore, its his business he can do what he wants. We'll
call him the servo-nazi and there will still be a huge line outside his mail
box waiting to get some of the GWS servos private labeled under the name and
color Dymond.
And Tony is wrong, because he can come up with an analogy from his
'business' it doesn't mean it applies to our hobby suppliers.
And I got to giggle at the assumption that Oleg is an angel and because of
that should be considered by the supplier.
If you want to fix this buy some servos for those that just 'failed' on poor
Oleg, that will end his grief and let you all go back to building and flying
:-)
Lets see, DLG's are extremely genital on servos because they are just little
light planes that float around the sky...or they are under as much or more
constant stress than unlimited ships with servos that cost closer to $100 each
than $25 each. DLG servos see less launches per hour than Unlimited
ships....not likely. DLGs servos see less impact stress than Unlimited servos....
Okay you get the idea.
So lets say that poor Oleg ('poor' Oleg because he decided he needed to get
a gang together to fight that nasty servo-nazi) got a set of servos that
mysteriously didn't work right out of the box.... a bunch of times. Then he
would have switched brands...but he didn't.
Instead either he or the guy he mentions said or did something to piss off
the servo-n...and earned banishment to the kingdom of Mark Miller's version of
the GWS servo.
Tony and I have talked about this topic in the past... and my question is
always the same, what do you hope to achieve by embarrassing yourself
publically? And in the long term, if you stay in the hobby, you will sooner or later
need that supplier again....why burn bridges over principal?
I don't always get the kind of service I try to provide my business
customers, but I figure out a way to get what I want...by myself.
Okay there was the recent exception where I warned everyone about that
darned Jim Porter sending me a Thorn kit over packed in bubble wrap and PEANUTS!
I still say we should all get together, drive out to Iowa and make him unwrap
it and vac out the peanuts!
:-)
