I posted this to rcgroups.com.

I was contacted yesterday by a sailboat friend and occasional flyer which we
will call Dave (cause that is his name) concerning a recent purchase he had
made. Dave said he had purchased a DLG at a yard sale for a dollar about a ½
mile from where our club flies on Thursdays and Sundays. Dave bought it
because he was concerned one of our club mates had lost it and he wanted to make
sure it was returned. The plane had seen better days. It is a (out of
production) RES Xterminator Pro from PoleCat Aeroplane Works. The wing is in
pretty good shape, the tail feathers kind of beat up, the pod broke in half
(repairable), the canopy was missing as were the servos. The JR receiver with
channel 19 crystal was intact as was the battery.

Well I sent an email out to the club asking if anyone had lost one and I
gave a brief description. I did get a response from a club mate and we will
call him Ken (because everyone else does). Ken proceeded to describe to me
specifics about the plane that assured me that it was his plane. He mentioned
the crystal frequency 19. He correctly described the receiver model and that
it used to be a righty launch plane. He said he had removed the pin and put
it on the left wing tip following the purchase from another club mate and we
will call him Bruce (yeah you guessed it). No doubt this was Ken’s plane.

Now I know you are thinking what is so special about this story??? Well
nothing except that Ken lost this DLG in a tree about 8 – 10 miles from where it
was recently purchased and from where we normally fly.

Yeah!!! What is so special about that? Well nothing except that Ken lost
it in the spring of 2002.
