You all remember early on in my devastation I owned a couple of electric
planes. I am speaking of the Hobbizone X-Treme (Big Yeller). It was a great
plane. It climbed quickly, actually soared well at high altitudes, and was
fairly durable. Of course it only had V-Tail controls. Well evidently it has a
sister now called the Swift. Slightly less powerful motor (480) but it has
aileron control and they actually use push rods now for the V-Tail instead of
the monofilament pull-pull system. I found the PP system to be a nuisance.
Also a great improvement I think is the two piece wing. It attaches to each
side of the cockpit via a spar as opposed to the one piece over the cockpit
wing that was held on by rubber bands.
Slightly less than the X-Treme at $169 but betting you can get this from
Brian at $152 or so.
If it flies anything like the X-Treme flew and you add aileron control then
it would be one nice ship.
The only draw back is that you are locked into buying the plane with their
onboard receiver and radio. While it worked well on the X-Treme I would have
preferred not paying for the xtra and used my own equipment.
Santa may just bring me one of these.
