Okay so it actually came from Plane Insane Models, its the amazing THORN,
solid basswood 60" CNC'd slope plane.
I decided on Red Oak for the stain, because I wanted some color, and likely
will use some yellow vinyl or some such for accent.
This kit is a masterpiece of old tech combined with new tech.
I intend to put about 10 coats of clear varnish on it, to really gloss it
out, and it will have removable tail feathers of course.
Andreas really puts his heart into this kit, after the machining process, he
goes at every part with a sander and hand finishes the parts with fine sand
paper, so what you get is really ready for the finish stain, seal, varnish,
and the steel wooling in between.
I pity the fools don't have one of these for their winter project builds!

IF you never fly it, you will have a display model worthy of any fine museum
setting, but for big lift, rip and roar conditions, its got to be a real
hoot (Cap'n Jack term).
Take a look, take out your credit card for something other than spreading
resin and get going on one of these beauties!
It will be fun to show case our 'finished' Thorns!
I got mine, you???
