I got up early today because the forecast promised really excellent
conditions for my LSF5 2 hour thermal flight.

but by the time I was done at the post office mailing my Sportube with Super
Ava and Laser 2m back to the house, getting some great coffee, and making my
way to the field, it was already 10:30.

The club had it monthly meeting going one when I got there but it ended
shortly after, and as predicted the sky was all up.

I put a up an exploritory flight to check the air potential and gave the TX
to Rick Eckels to get some flight time in on the Sharon. He kept it around
1400' for most of the flight according to the Picolario's reports. We kept it
up for about 20mins or so then landed and I put a top off charge into it.

But the weather decided to change pretty abruptly, becoming over cast and
calm. All the birds disappeared.

I put up a really great launch 620' and headed out straight up wind, and
slightly left.

It felt really good to know I'd be checking off one more of those pesky
tasks, so with great enthusiasm I continued the flight.

It wasn't easy all I could find was small tight and low altitude thermals,
but I worked like a dog as the talking timer chatted away.

I finished up just as the guys were taking down the winch and at that point
I had Wing House chicken wings on my mind with a Killians Red in a frosty
glass mug.

The Sharon touched down just as the talking timer shouted out 1 hour 54
seconds left..........

In any case the wings and beer was great...and I chased it all off with
Casino Royale....talk about an awesome Saturday :-)
